And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 1:3

Hope To wish for an event that one considers possible

Hope - elpis (el-peace) : Expectation of what is sure Root word of elpis is elpo : To anticipate, welcome

What is Faith ?

Romans 10:10 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved   Romans 10:17 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 Christian Hope is reality not yet seen because our Faith is reality that is seen.

GotQuestions.org Faith and hope are complementary. Faith is grounded in the reality of the past; hope is looking to the reality of the future. Without faith, there is no hope, and without hope there is no true faith. Christians are people of faith and hope. We have “the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time” Titus 1:2

What do we hope for ? Hope in the resurrection (1 Cor 15:20) Hope of eternal life (Titus 1:2) Hope that God will take care of us (Matt 11:28-29, 1 Pet 5:7) A new heaven and new earth (Rev 21:1) A new body (1 Cor 15:53, Phil 3:21)

Col 1: 3 – 5 3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— 5 the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel 6 that has come to you.

Faith builds Hope Hope inspires Love Love prompts Faith

How to read the Bible – option 1 1Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. 6 And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ. 7 To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:1 - 7
