Water Quality Maintenance – for the prevention of Legionella In order to reduce risk of legionella infection all water baths in the range of 20-45oC must be disinfected once a month. Accepted Methods: Heating to 60oC for 15 minutes or, addition of a commercially available bactericide or, changing the water and removing all possible nutrients from the bath e.g. sludge, scale, organic matter. All tap units must also be opened once a month to allow fresh water to be introduced into the pipework and tap. Please date and initial the following table when one of the above steps has been taken.
