How does it Work? Complete the general application on Naviance – connection.naviance.com/duxbury Some scholarships have separate applications – these will be logged into Naviance as we receive them To be considered for need based scholarships you must submit the SAR of the FAFSA Adhering to all deadlines is crucial!

Part 1 of general application In Naviance – log on and go to “about me” section. Choose Surveys. Then choose surveys not started and you will see it. Make sure to fill in ALL fields No laundry list of activities – pick the important ones as there are limits on what you can list Special circumstances – you don’t have to have one but if you do talk to your counselor about how to best list it Be sure to include a major or area of interest DUE DATE!!!!! – being late means you may miss certain scholarships

DHS Scholarship APP – Part 1

Part 2 of General Application On Naviance in same place as Part 1 Must list a school by due date Must submit a financial aid award letter from college if applicable FAFSA sheet due – it is the Student Aid Report which lists your EFC (estimated family contribution) – only the first page with your name on it is required! –see next slide for visual What to do if college is still unknown? – List your most likely choice and then update us once final

Separate Applications Will be listed in Naviance – they will be under the category “2019 DHS Scholarships” and you will receive an email each time one is available. Pay attention to due dates Must be sent back directly to organization awarding scholarship Must meet the criteria listed and complete all of the requirements. Up to student and family which scholarships from this group to which you wish to apply

To find Separate Apps On Naviance Go to Colleges tab Go to bottom where it says scholarships and money Click on scholarship list Select category at top of list – 2019 DHS Scholarship Apps (be sure you are in 2019) to find ones for DHS Scholarship program. 2019 outside apps are other scholarships that we list but are NOT affiliated with the DHS Scholarship program.

Dates and Deadlines General application is available on Naviance Part 1 is due by March 1, 2019. Part 2 is due with FAFSA SAR if applicable by April 12, 2019. Most outside applications are available in late February and due by mid April – dates will be listed in Naviance Senior Awards Night will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 7pm in the Performing Arts Center
