Common Ground: Addressing Known Challenges with Alignment for CATs Adaptive assessments are not fixed-form tests, and hence evidence that items in a pool align to specific content standards is not sufficient Consideration of effectiveness of item delivery process (content and optimal challenge) adds a new dimension to evaluation of alignment in CAT context Connecting what is intended (test planning docs, such as blueprints) with what actually is delivered (test events) becomes explicit (HumRRO: chain of evidence) Findings likely will be more useful to developers for the purpose of item pool and delivery system refinement
