Classroom Expectations Be Responsible Be Prepared Be Respectful Be Involved

Tardy Policy (per semester) 1st=warning 2nd=Stay after class 3rd=Afterschool detention and parent contact 4th=School Detention (admin. assigned), and parent contact. Students can earn extra credit and other privileges at the end of each semester if they have 0-1 tardies.

Course requirements and evaluation Classwork Participation Group projects Homework Tests and Quizzes Quizzes on the “Basics” Tests on Basics, notes, readings, HW, etc Essays and Projects Usually one project or essay per unit

The Basics One “Basics” worksheet per area of study Recaps the basic info needed to pass the quizzes, prepare for tests, etc. Requirements: Questions (review from reading and class notes) Vocabulary Definition of Word Significant Statement Keep all year to study for State Tests and finals! Extra copies can be found on our website!

Economics Game of Life Project Stock Market Game 6 parts, 100 points each Needs to be turned in on due date, or only worth partial credit! First part due THIS FRIDAY 9/17/2010! Helps plan college, career, budget, savings, credit, etc Final portfolio due in January Stock Market Game In groups

Grading To see your student’s grades: BUT… Go to Zangle Parent Connect Blank spots DO NOT equal zero (it means I haven't entered it yet) Absent work might show up as a zero (for now), when the student returns, we will fix the grade. Students with accommodations for extra time, might see a zero if the assignment was not turned in, but it will be fixed before the progress report. Remind your student to keep all work to have proof of the grade they received.

Grading Codes on Zangle Red= Missing Work Green=Late Work (1/2 or “C” credit)

Absences and late work Students have the amount of days they were absent to get work made-up for full credit Late work is due by the end of the grading period and is only worth ½ credit
