Course Description U.S. History Students will examine themes and events in United States History from its founding up through the early 1900’s, ending with the Progressive Era

Course Description Debate Students will examine issues, some controversial that effect the world today. Topics cover a wide range from a uniform dress policy at school to the legalization of euthanasia. There will be a heavy emphasis on research, speaking skills and Internet use.

Grades Grades will be based on the total points that the student earns. Letter grades will be figured by the percentage of points received out of the total points possible. SAMPLE 160 points earned out of 200 points possible 160/200 = 0.8 0r 80% = B-

Late Work Late work is accepted up until two weeks before the end of each semester. Late assignments turned in after those dates will not be accepted. All late work will be docked 50%.

Progress Reports/Report Cards Schedules/dates can be found in the student’s agenda planner. School generated progress reports are for informing parents/guardians as to how their student(s) is progressing. If you would like your student to be on one of my bi-weekly progress reports it must be requested in writing to me. If requested, I expect to get the progress reports signed and returned so that I may keep a record of our correspondence. Grades can also be viewed through Zangle Parent Connect.
