Step 1 On the front cover, use a pen to write your first and last name and “English Language Arts”

Step 2 On the very first page write in pencil… Your first and last name “English Language Arts” Your Block Number “Ambassadors Team” “Coastal Middle School” “2018-19”

Step 3 Starting on the very first page, number the pages 1-200. *Pages should be numbered on the front and back *Numbers should be written in the top corner and be no bigger than half an inch

Step 4 On the top of pages 2-9 write “Table of Contents”

Starting on page 2, number each line 1-200 Starting on page 2, number each line 1-200. There should be 25 lines per page. Step 5

Step 6 In your table of contents, list page 1 as “Title Page” and pages 2-9 as “Table of Contents”

Step 7 From the back of the notebook, turn 10 full sheets of paper. At the top of the pages you land on, write “Root Word List 1”

Step 8 Look at the numbers of the pages “Root Word List 1” is on, and in your table of contents, list those pages as “Root Word List 1”

Step 9 On the left root word list 1 page, number each line 1-25

Step 10 On the same page, use your ruler to draw 2 vertical lines down the paper, dividing the writing section into 3 parts

Step 11 Begin copying your first list of root words into your notebook. The first column on the left page is for the word The second is for the meaning The third is for the origin The right page is for the examples You will need to finish copying these for homework
