Krebs Cycle Krebs Cycle is also known as the Citric Acid Cycle Process is described as a series of chemical reactions in which pyruvic acid is broken down into carbon dioxide This process produces most of the ATP used by the cell and the carbon dioxide that we exhale.

Electron Transport Chain High energy electrons are generated during the Krebs Cycle to convert ADP to ATP. Krebs Cycle and Electron Transport Chain (ETC) produce 36 ATP molecules. These 36 ATPs combined with 2 ATPs from glycolysis mean that a total of 38 ATPs are produced during aerobic respiration.
