Graduation Plans 26 total credits FHSP w/ Endorsement(s) DLA w/ Endorsement(s) 4 English (English I, English II, English III, and advanced English) 4 Math (including Algebra I and Geometry) 4 Science (including Biology and a Lab Science) 3 Social Studies (W. Geography or W. History, US History, Gov’t, and Econ) PE (1 credit) Fine Art (1 credit) Foreign Language (2 credits of the same language) Electives (7 credits) Meet all the requirements of the FHSP with Endorsement Complete Algebra II as one of the required math credits NOTE: Elective choices will be dependent upon the endorsement the student is seeking. Some endorsements will require more core class completions. 26 total credits

Endorsements The purpose of the FHSP graduation plans is to…. Instill flexibility in public education by enabling students to either pursue a traditional path into colleges and universities or move directly into the workforce (ex. Welding, Cosmetology certifications) An endorsement is similar to a college major Students can earn an endorsement in one of the following areas: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Business and Industry Public Services Arts and Humanities Multidisciplinary Studies

Why are students being guided to choose a career pathway?

Languages Other Than English (2 credits required) Choose from the following languages offered at AHS: Spanish French Latin American Sign Language (ASL) Must take 2 years of the SAME language Ex: Spanish 1 & Spanish 2

Fine Arts (1 credit required) Choices Art Theatre Arts or Tech Theater Orchestra Band Choir Dance Notes Fall semester of Band can count as PE ½ credit OR as a Fine Arts ½ credit Dance 1 allows students to earn 1 Fine Arts credit AND 1 PE credit

Courses for Next Year Check your student’s course selections in Choices360 now. Choices360 will close for 2019-2020 course selection on Friday, February 15, 2019. Students will receive course verifications this spring at their middle school campus.

Required State Assessments In addition to earning required credits, all students must meet at least the Level Two standard on 5 End-Of-Course exams to meet graduation requirements. English I English II Algebra I Biology U.S. History EOCs listed in bold are typically taken during the freshman year, depending on the student’s schedule.

Check your child’s four year plans before you allow your child to submit the plan to his or her counselor.

Stay tuned… FLIGHT SCHOOL FISH CAMP Important dates will be announced as soon as the new district calendar is released. Check the AHS website for updated information about: FLIGHT SCHOOL All AHS students are strongly encouraged to attend to turn in annual registration paperwork, check student course lists, receive student IDs and textbooks, and receive free tardy passes! FISH CAMP Freshmen are invited to attend Fish Camp to learn more about AHS, take a campus tour, and meet their classmates. Pre-registration will be required and can be completed on the website once dates have been announced.
