What is the definition of gravity? A force that pulls bodies of mass together.

What is the definition of weight? A planets gravitational pull on an object. This gives the object weight.

What is mass? Mass is the amount of matter that an object contains.

How does gravity make a scale work? Gravity pulls an object down and a scale measures the pull.

Earths gravity pulls us toward the center of the planet. How does Earth keep us on the ground?

Give two examples of things with a lot of mass. The planets, stars, and the moon.

What things have gravity? Anything that has mass, has gravity.

Why do you weigh less on the Moon than on Earth? Because the Moon has less mass, it has less gravity. Therefore, there is less pull, which results in less weight.

DAILY DOUBLE DAILY DOUBLE

Use the words gravity and mass to explain why you need to eat right and exercise to lose weight? Your weight is determined by the force of Earths gravity on you as you stand on a scale. The only way to reduce how much you weigh on Earth is to reduce your mass. The best way to lose excess mass is to exercise and eat a well-balanced diet.

FINAL JEOPARDY ? Gravity

If you weigh 100 lbs on Earth, what would you weigh on Pluto? 7 lbs Grav. Factor X Weight
