Ancient Greece Athens Ancient Persian Empire Sparta This is a map of ancient Greece. Sparta and Athens are ones of city states. Ancient Persian Empire is the most biggest and strongest empire at that time. Lydian is the kingdom invaded by Ancient Persian Empire later. Ancient Persian Empire wanted to conquer the world. Sparta picked a fight with Ancient Persian Empire once. Sparta

Sparta As strong as Athens Militarism (SPARTA EDUCATION) Citizen (minor) VS Slave (major) As mentioned above, Sparta is one of city states in ancient Greece. At that time, the most flourishing city state is Athens. However, Sparta is as strong as Athens. The reason of that is the political system of Sparta. The political system of Sparta is militarism. This militarism is so hard and intense, and SPARTA EDUCATION come from this. And, citizens of Sparta are minority toward slaves. So, soldiers of Sparta had to control a lot of slave with a few soldiers. So, soldiers of Sparta were grow to become so strong. Sparta thought of quality than quantity. QUALITY > QUANTITY

Sparta This picture is a scene of the movie called as 300 (THREE HUNDREDS). These soldiers are soldiers of Sparta. The number is 300. This scene is the battle of Thermopylae, and they fight against the army of Ancient Persian Empire. The number is more than 100,000. The consequence is a loss of Sparta. However, they also did enough damage to Persian Empire.

LEONIDAS The king of Sparta in the battle of Thermopylae A hero in ancient Greece Leonidas is a king of Sparta. And, he led soldiers of Sparta in the battle of Thermopylae. He received a revelation of God that Sparta should fight against Persian Empire at that moment. So, he determined to fight with a few but strong soldiers against Persian Empire. He is one of great heroes in ancient Greece.

The decline of Sparta Battle of Leuctra – Sparta VS Thebai Sparta Lose… Alexander the Great Sparta are in cooperation with Athens to defeat Persian Empire. However , Sparta turned against Athens. Although Sparta defeated Athens, Sparta was defeated by Thebai later. And later, Alexander the Great defeated. So, Sparta falled into a decline.
