I Don’t Like That! Matthew 15:10-14

The Importance Of The Word It comes from God (2 Tim. 3:16) It is a guide (2 Tim. 3:17) It will save (James 1:21) It will judge (Jn. 12:47-48)

Attitudes Toward The Word It depends on your interpretation A result of a lack of personal investigation/study Multiplicity of denominational doctrines It is not understandable Too complex for ordinary folks Full of fables and “mumbo jumbo” It was written by men It lacks compelling authority It does not come from a higher source

I don’t like that! And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matt. 7:23)

I don’t like that! Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Matt. 16:24)

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matt. 12:36-37) I don’t like that!

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matt. 7:13-14) I don’t like that!

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matt. 11:28-30) I don’t like that!

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven (Matt. 7:21)
