Connectivity Measurements Alan Deguzman, David Zats, Matt Jones, Nam Vo

Objectives Determine correlation between RSSI and distance. Find relationship between packet loss and RSSI. Examine the effect of delay upon distance.

Testing Method TELNET into one of the non-gateway nodes and placed it close to the gateway. Pinged the other non-gateway node, varying the distance by using the fact that 1 tile = 1 foot.

Lessons Learned Obstacles can cause significant interference (loss in RSSI) Distance does not greatly impact delay Do not see significant packet loss until RSSI approaches -92dBm RSSI is not highly correlated with distance
