How to Pray for Healing and Restoration November 18, 2018

Note: This is not a promise for everyone. 2 Chronicles 7:14 “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Note: This is not a promise for everyone.

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and mother.” Matthew 12:46-50

How to develop (continued) Be respectful to those in authority. I Timothy 2:1-4 Admit sins and weaknesses to one another. James 5:16 Always speak well of others. Colossians 4:6 Pray for your enemies. Matthew 5:44

Four Conditions Ask God for Help “…and pray…”

How to pray for healing Remember, Jesus wants you to ask. John 16:23, 24 Ask in Jesus’ name. What does that mean?? Believe and expect an answer. James 5:14, 15 Get others to pray for you. Matthew 18:19 Keep praying until God says to stop. James 1:27

Four Conditions “…and seek my face…” Seek God, not a miracle

Seek God, not a miracle “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.” Proverbs 8:17 “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

What does God want from you??? “Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.” Psalm 114:2 “But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 4:29 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

When you think of wickedness… “For you have forgotten the God of your salvation.” Isaiah 17:10

Turn In the Old Testament – return, bring back, repent In the New Testament – change your mind

Turn “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.” Acts 3:19 “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.” Proverbs 28:13 “Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” James 5:16
