How WHO CCs can assist NIC. Capacity Building: How WHO CCs can assist NIC. Dr Patrick Reading Melbourne WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza, Melbourne, Australia Patrick.Reading@influenzacentre.org

WHO CCs are committed to assisting NIC in laboratory-based detection of influenza viruses: 1. Training at WHO CC: - NIC staff come to us for training in particular techniques relevant to NIC laboratories (e.g. virus isolation, real-time PCR, sequencing) 2. In-house training: - someone from WHO CC spends 1-2 weeks in your laboratory to help you establish a technique * advice on procurement, * development of SOPs, * technical training, * follow up and trouble-shooting 3. Development/involvement in more formal training through workshops and related activities.

WHO CCs are committed to assisting NIC in laboratory-based surveillance of influenza virus: Get the most out of your WHO CCs!! We want to be useful so please let us know if there are other ways we can assist you??? Email: whoflu@influenzacentre.org Website: www.influenzacentre.org/
