Attitudes Toward The Truth John 8:32

John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free

Improper Attitudes “I want the truth (what and how I want it)” Selective Rich young ruler (Matt. 19:16-22) “Truth is Flexible” By individual By time There were those who thought the gospel should somehow be different (or flexible) for the Gentiles (Acts 15:1, 24)

Proper Attitudes Seeking the truth Overcoming obstacles A burning desire to know the truth (Acts 17:11) Once found, always kept (Prov. 23:23) Overcoming obstacles Obstacles to Jews and Gentiles (1 Cor. 1:22-23), yet overcome (1 Cor. 1:24) I will obey the truth, no matter the cost (Matt. 16:24-27)
