Remain Faithful in Service You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. - II Timothy 2:1

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13

Examples of Faithfulness A. Teachers The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. - II Timothy 2:2

Examples of Faithfulness B. Soldiers 3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. - II Timothy 2:3-4

Examples of Faithfulness C. Athletes Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules. - II Timothy 2:5

Examples of Faithfulness D. Farmers 6 The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops. 7 Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. - II Timothy 2:6-7

Understanding / Knowing God → Heaven

8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel, 9 for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned. - II Timothy 2:8-9

For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory. - II Timothy 2:10

Eternal Glory not Eternal Life

11 It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; 12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us; - II Timothy 2:11-12

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. - II Timothy 2:13

If we die with Him We resurrect with Him Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? - Romans 6:3

He resurrects from the tomb We resurrect from the water 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, - Romans 6:4-5

If we endure → we will reign

Transformation (Good News) 1. Regeneration - John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. - Acts 2:38

Transformation (Good News) 2. Glorification - I Corinthians 15:42-49 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;

44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. I Corinthians 15:44-46

47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly. I Corinthians 15:47-49

Transformation (Good News) 3. Exaltation It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; – II Timothy 2:11 He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. – Revelation 3:21

Transformation (Bad News) 12b If we deny Him, He also will deny us; 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. - II Timothy 12b-13

Man’s denial of Christ does not change the reality of Jesus’ presence and power.
