GREATEST COMMON FACTOR Once you list out all of the factors for the 2 (or more) numbers. Find the BIGGEST factor that the 2 numbers have in COMMON.

HOW TO FIND THE GCF

WHY AM I LEARNING THIS? WHERE WILL I USE IN REAL WORLD

White Board Practice What is the GCF of 6 and 8.

Share your answers with your partner. Did you get the same answers? If not, who was right. Are there any misconceptions or questions that you may have about gcf.

Practice these problems in your notebook. Find the GCF of 18 and 27 Find the GCF of 14 and 35 Find the GCF of 8, 16, and 32 (WOOOOOOH 3 numbers….yep!!!) Explain (in writing) how you can be sure you have found the GREATEST common factor and not just a common factor.
