Multicellular Plant-Like Protists Brown algae (phylum Phaeophyta) Contain chlorophyll a and c and fucoxanthins Marine Found in cool, shallow waters of temperate and arctic areas Examples: Kelp, Sargassum, and Fucus

Multicellular Plant-Like Protists Green Algae (phylum Chlorophyta) Contain chlorophyll a and b Found in fresh and salt water Unicellular Green Algae Chlamydomonas Colonial Green Algae Spirogyra forms long, threadlike colonies called filaments Volvox consists of 500 to 50,000 cells arranged to form hollow balls
