NOW SHOWING… Ms. Lashley’s Class Classroom Expectations August 26, 2013

Find a seat! Each class we will be working around the room in different stations, but after we go over the agenda. So, when entering the room please report to the seat with your nametag. Assigned seating

What to do with my belongings? If you bring belongings into Ms. Lashley’s room you will put them in a cubby, located to the right, when you walk into the room. My Stuff!

Can I use the bathroom? If you need to use the restroom, please wait for a break time. Each activity and lesson we go over will have a transition time. So when is the best time to go to the bathroom? In the middle of a lesson? Or before the next? If you answered before the next, give yourself a high-five! Bathroom Breaks

Red Light, Yellow Light, Green Light! It is important that we all get a chance to speak in the room. Before each activity, directions will be clearly stated and clear. When to talk

Red Light If the red light is on the board that means everyone is listening! EX: Lessons on the smart board Directions from a teacher When others are talking Lessons directed by teachers Red Light-Listen

Red Light Questions… If you have a question when a red light is on, please raise your hand. If your hand is raised I know you need to ask a question Do not talk to a friend, because this distracts others and both get put on the spot. April 11, 2019

Yellow Light If the yellow light is on the board, that means you are allowed to whisper. Ex: If you finish an activity early and have a question, you may whisper. April 11, 2019

Green Light If a green light is on the board, you may talk to each other or a teacher. Ex: During group work During transitions Before and after agenda items April 11, 2019

We have a new attitude! Attitude is everything and that’s why in our classroom we strive for excellence. We will strive to be the best we can with school work AND attitude. Behavior

If you’re having a bad day.. The first time a redirection is needed in the classroom you receive a verbal warning and a call home. The second time a redirection is needed in the classroom you receive a phone conference with teacher and guidance counselor. The third time a redirection is needed in the classroom you receive a call home and trip to the main office for further action. Bad Day

If you’re having a great day.. Call home for positive notes High fives and verbal praise Ms. Lashley’s prize bucket A positive note home and to the office! All work we do will get a chance to be displayed on the “Now Showing” work board. Good Day

Are you a movie star? All of us are great students and I want everyone to know it! That is why we will have a celebrity of the month student! April 11, 2019

Materials You have a list of materials needed for homeroom. So, I work hard to make sure you do not need to have binders, pencils, etc.! Here is what I will give you: Folder Pencil Paper All markers or art supplies needed materials

Materials continued.. If you want to purchase your our own folder and paper/pencils/pens for the class you may. Again, I will make sure to provide everything needed so you do not need to purchase extra supplies.  materials

Homework Daily homework will be assigned to each student as designated by the county. The assignments are activities and reviews to help encourage students to build skills in reading, writing, and math. Homework

Am I going to get a grade? Tests & projects ----- 30% Quizzes----------------- 20% Classwork------------- 40% Homework----------- 10% * If something changes before the first grade is entered you will be notified immediately! Grades

One more thing… Your parents know to look for this PowerPoint so let’s all put it away in our folders now. Parents

Are you ready to play a game? Everyone clear their desks. We are going to play a game to make ourselves familiar with the room. Your teacher will shout out an object or area of the room. As class, work together and find what is being asked. Room Scavenger Hunt

There is no pushing, running, or knocking anything over. Use your INSIDE voices please. Try and remember where things are, because we will have a memory game at the end of class! Ready? Let’s play! Rules continued
