Assignment Book Assists organization, preparation, and responsibility Students write assignments and reminders on a daily basis Should be reviewed daily by parents and student Sign by Tuesday on the parent signature line Parents can use this book to write notes to the teacher as well (email is preferred) Student is responsible for pointing the note out to teacher
Homework Usually started in class and completed at home Math is assigned about twice a week and due the next day Study basic math facts nightly Social studies and science homework is very light to none Reading and writing homework packet is given on Monday and due on Friday Long term projects - students will be given instructions, due dates and other needed information well ahead of the due date
Evaluation All work will be evaluated as needed Missing work is expected the following school day for partial credit Parents receive a progress report in the middle of each grading period or as needed Infinite Campus will be used
Grading Scale 98-100 A+ Satisfactory in K-3 68-69 D+ Unsatisfactory in K-3 93-97 A “ 63-67 D “ 90-92 A- “ 60-62 D- “ 88-89 B+ “ 0-59 U “ 83-87 B “ 80-82 B- “ A detailed rubric will also be used 78-79 C+ “ in some evaluated areas. Students 73-77 C “ will be aware of the rubric and can 70-72 C- “ share a copy with parents.
Not Prepareds Child did not have the assignment or materials needed for class on time Receive notice of the missing or late assignment in Infinite Campus “Missing” means that we need it “Late” means that the due date was missed and 10% will be deducted
Responsibility A major goal in 4th grade Allow the students to make mistakes They will learn - not suffer Use time wisely Work must be made up as soon as possible when absent
