FosterVision February 6th , 2015

FosterVision: Purpose To facilitate tracking foster youth educational status, placement changes, and improvement of services, through a collection of data from districts and public agencies Sustainable and Free to Santa Clara County School Districts FosterVision System

Solving the Problem Districts and agencies have historically been challenged with keeping track of foster youth Challenges with district moves, academic records, changes in status, etc. Lack of communication channels between partners Opportunity: LCFF Funding now tied to identified foster youth FosterVision System

Solutions, Project Design Needed: A clearinghouse to gather district and agency data in one place, then deliver it in a secure, web-based environment Needed: A means to ensure data is kept up-to-date (source data) Nothing new here in terms of data sharing, just a MUCH more efficient delivery system. (As close to REAL TIME as possible!!) FosterVision System

The Pilot What We Have… FosterVision currently holds data from: SCCOE Santa Clara Unified Franklin McKinley School District East Side Union High (In Progress) and Department of Family and Children’s Services (DFCS) FosterVision System
