Presentation transcript:

The grape workers went on strike. Cesar held a meeting telling everyone that truth was better than violence The public, who had been unaware of how the farmworkers had to live, began to support La Causa. Officials from the grape company promised a contract offering a raise and better conditions. Cesar did poorly in school due to moving and how migrants were treated. Cesar organized a march to the state capitol to ask the government for help. The grape workers went on strike. Cesar signed the first contract for farmworkers in American History. The first National Farm Workers Association meeting was held and La Causa was born. Cesar lived on his family’s big ranch in Arizona. A drought forced Cesar’s family to become migrant workers. The conditions were horrible. Cesar decided to dedicate his life to fighting for change.
