How do I create a flyer? Determine flyer purpose Analyze Audience Gain votes Publicize event Sell product, etc. Analyze Audience Where are they employed Educational background Possible questions

How do I create a flyer? Some suggest gathering images of people who represent the audience and looking at them during the design process to keep you focused. Gather Content Content in a spreadsheet? database? View web sites, pamphlets, magazines, articles, etc., to see others’ approach to topic. Personal interviews

How do I create a flyer? Determine Content to Use List 3-4 major ideas you want the audience to remember after viewing the project. Begin with the end in mind . . . Consider how project will be presented Colored paper? Transparencies? PowerPoint? With a Projector? Poor lighting? Can an image emphasize a concept best? Plan order information is presented to audience. People usually remember the 1st and last pieces of information best Put most important information at the beginning & end/top & bottom

How do I create a flyer? Planning the project helps ensure a successful project!

Your task . . . Partner with another student. Each of you practice reciting the 5 steps in planning a project.

General Flyer Guidelines Text – Follow the “less is better” principle. Use as few words as possible. Text Format – Consider size, shape, color, and position on the page. Appropriate images – Should be eye-catching Should convey message of flyer Should grab attention Should draw people to read the flyer Does it need a border? Nice border may help draw attention. Be careful not to clutter flyer with background.
