Motivation Project

Step 1: Read the article about the 2 types of motivation: Extrinsic Vs. Intrinsic Turn in

Step 2: Complete the “Choosing What I Like Survey” Tally your score and determine your #1 reinforcement type Adult Approval Competitive Approval Peer Approval Independent Rewards Consumable Rewards

Step 3: Find a partner Make sure both of you have competed steps 1 and 2 before beginning the project Decide how you want to present the information PowerPoint Poster Role Play Other ideas? (Ask Mrs. Boccio)

Step 4: Research each of the 5 types of reinforcement Use the following website to help: Reinforcement Research

Step 5: For each of the 5 reinforcement types do the following: Name it Define it Give at least 2 examples of what it looks like Give at least 1 example of what this would look like in the classroom Have at least 1 image to help remember it

Step 6: Each partner needs to: write 1 paragraph (or more) reflection about what you learned about motivation and reinforcement Be sure to include whether you are extrinsic or Intrinsic and your preferred reinforcement type and be specific as to what you want For example, if I was Extrinsic and my reinforcement type was consumable reward, I would want my teacher to give me candy in the classroom.
