Communications – Level 3 Participant Name FRC Team #

Foundations of Communication Task: Describe the current state of all team communication channels. Create, update or review the team communication plan.  The portfolio deliverable item should include the participant’s contribution to the team communication plan. Use the following questions as a guide: Who creates the communications? What are the goals of the communication? What is the target audience? When is the communication published? What frequency is the communication published? What are the results/outcomes of the communication? What resources are available?

Communications / Media Productions Task: Edit and publish 10 items related to the communication channel. Participant should collaborate with other students working on Communications Level 1 and 2 items to produce the media items.

Engage and Participate Task: Online or at a competition, compare and benchmark 5 other teams and their communication channels. Determine where team compares in terms of strengths and weaknesses.

Public Speaking Task: Create and deliver a presentation related to the team goals. Record the presentation and review for to ensure participants are using effective communication techniques. Examples of Effective Communication Techniques Voice – is the communication loud enough, but not too loud? Mannerisms – do the presenter’s movement add or detract from the message? Time – is the presentation within the expected time? Message – is the presenter prepared and enthusiastic about the presentation topic?
