2 Parts Claim-Restates the prompt and expresses your opinion. Premises (reasons)-The number of premises you have should equal the number of body paragraphs you need. Your premises become the topic sentences for your body paragraphs. A Good Thesis

At the end of a quote or paraphrase, you must always cite your source. Mla citations To cite a novel or short story, you need the author’s last name and the page number. EX: (O’Conner 47) At the end of a quote or paraphrase, you must always cite your source.

MLA Citaitons Be Careful! Always integrate your quote into another sentence (no quote should be lonely) Your citation always goes at the end on the sentence, but before the period.
