Choose My Courses

Choose My Courses Clicking Choose My Courses will allow you to access your student’s 4 year plan. You will see the past courses your student has taken for high school credit, and the courses he or she planned last spring. The courses planned last spring may or may not accurately reflect your student’s current schedule.

Why is there a difference? There may be a difference between what your student planned to take and what his or her schedule actually looks like this fall. WHY? Tutorials: Classes are planned before we have STAAR EOC testing results. If your student did not pass a state assessment, he or she will have a tutorial built into the school day for that particular subject

Why is there a difference? Failing Grades: If your student failed a course required for graduation and did not complete summer school coursework to regain credit, that class (either the entire course or the semester that was failed) has been added back into this year’s schedule. Scheduling Issue: The combination of classes chosen by your student may not have been possible due to scheduling constraints. Endorsement Progress: Endorsement progress is critical for successful completion of the 26 credit Foundation + Endorsement Graduation Plan. An Endorsement is a progression of classes in a particular elective or academic pathway. Your student has chosen an Endorsement in Career Cruising.

Endorsement

Endorsement – Learn More On the right hand side of the screen, click on the Learn More rectangle under Endorsement. Here, you will Learn More about your student’s chosen Endorsement Area and the courses that will fulfill the Endorsement requirements. An Endorsement change can only be made with the school counselor. Any Endorsement change made on the student side will not hold.

Learn More

Learn More The Learn More function allows you and your student to see which courses to plan in order to fulfill the chosen Endorsement pathway. Students can earn more than one Endorsement. The primary Endorsement is recorded in Career Cruising.

My Course Plan

Looking to the Future: My Course Plan Now you can begin planning classes for all 4 years of high school. The courses required for graduation are in manila colored boxes. Counselors will review selections with students after Christmas break. Students should not SUBMIT schedule requests until a counselor has met individually with them.

More about Career Cruising Career Cruising is not just a tool to help build the 4 year plan. Spend some time with the site to learn more about colleges and universities, scholarships, and resume building. Students can take and retake an interest inventory to help them discover more about their individual interests and aptitudes.

Questions We are here to help! If you have any questions, please contact one of the counselors at Snyder High School. Emily Beaver – Freshman/Sophomore ebeaver@snyderisd.net Tricia Spikes – Junior/Senior tspikes@snyderisd.net
