Concrete Surface Repair Technician

ICRI Certification – Concrete Surface Repair Technician Program Launched in 2016 Over 250 program participants . Live Perf Exam Class Schedule Nov 6–Omaha, NE (Fall Convention) April 25, 2019 – Denver, CO Certified Concrete Surface Repair Technician (CCSRT) On-Line Database

Concrete Surface Repair Technician Competency Based Program Knowledge using current best practices for training and evaluation. Presented and tested online Performance components assessed by observable criteria (video recorded or live) Effective, Consistent, Affordable, and Convenient Tier 1 will complete the knowledge components only Tier 2 will be qualified to perform Pre and Post-placement inspections and testing (full certification) Certification Methods Competency Based Program using current best practices for training and evaluation Knowledge components presented and tested online Highly interactive For example: on a pull test they will be tested online to determine if they can identify the failure mode in a variety of photos. The will be video evaluated on their ability to perform a pull test, from identifying the location, coring, pulling, and reporting. The videos will be reviewed against set criteria by ICRI SME’s. Effective, Consistent, Affordable, and Convenient Effective because the training is focused on the outcomes, and engages the learner thru interactions the target the outcomes. Consistent because we have clear criteria used to assess. Affordable because the online format of the training makes it accessible without the need for travel or instructor’s time.

ICRI CSRT Program Two Tier Program Tier 1 Tier 2 Education/Training Program ASTM’s now available electronically in course Five (5) online mods Each mod will take approx. 1 – 2 hrs ea Each mod graded Cert of Achievement Tier 2 Full-Certification Includes Tier 1 Education/Training Program Online Knowledge Exam Perf Exam (video submission or live) 5 – year certification

Certified Concrete Surface Repair Technicians will: Be aware of the causes and problems associated with embedded metal corrosion What Reinforced Concrete is Overview of Concrete Deterioration Types Embedded Metal Corrosion Freeze-Thaw Erosion/Abrasion Disintegration Embedded Metal Corrosion (In depth) Passivation/Carbonation Chlorides Understand the Requirements for a Quality Repair Address Deteriorated and Contaminated Concrete Address Deteriorated and Damaged Reinforcement Bond Mixing, Finishing, Curing and Protection Tier 1 will be do all of the knowledge components Tier 2 will be qualified to perform Per and Post-placement inspections

Certified Concrete Surface Repair Technicians will: Be aware of the various repair materials and methods Dry-Packing Trowel Applied Poured Flatwork Form and Pour Form and Pump Pre-placed Aggregate Shotcrete Be qualified to perform pre-placement and post-placement inspections Hammer Sounding (ASTM D4580) Carbonation of Existing Concrete Inspecting for Proper Removal of Concrete Behind Rebar (ICRI 310.1R) Inspecting for Surface Cleanliness of Existing Concrete Inspecting for Moisture Condition Measuring Rebar Section Loss Inspecting for Rebar Cleanliness (ICRI 310.1R) Inspecting Proper Storage, Mixing, Placement of Repair Material (ICRI 320.3 R) Measuring Slump (ASTM C143) and SCC Slump Flow (ASTM C1611) Making Cylinders (ASTM C31) Fabricating a Shotcrete Test Panel Pull off Test (ASTM C1583/ICRI 210.3R) Tier 1 will be do all of the knowledge components Tier 2 will be qualified to perform Per and Post-placement inspections
