August 27-31 Kelly.Randolph@henry.k12.ga.us Davida.lyons@henry.k12.ga.us Parents, We will begin conference weeks after Labor Day. Your student’s teacher will be sending home sign ups for conferences. Conferences will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis, so please return the form as soon as possible. We look forward to meeting with each family to discuss your student’s progress thus far as well as goals for the school year. You will be amazed at the growth you see from this first conference to May! We’re off to a great start here in kindergarten! Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher with any questions you may have. Thanks! I can identify the character, setting, and main events in stories. I can print letters. I can name all upper and lowercase letters. I can follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page. I know that spoken words are represented by specific sequences of letters. I know that words are separated by spaces in print. I can ask questions to compare and sort objects made of different materials. I can use my senses and science tool to classify objects by one or more characteristics. I can count to 100 by ones and tens. I can write numbers 0-20. I can count forward from any given number. I can classify objects into given categories. I can identify Labor Day as a national holiday. I can compare and contrast how different families celebrate Labor Day. I can describe positive character traits as related by people’s jobs and Labor day. I can describe Labor Day celebrations then and now by using words about chronology and time.
