An Expanding Nation By: Seth Lindsey #:20

The Transcontinental Railroad It went from Omaha, Nebraska to Sacramento, California. The workers were paid for one mile each. They had trouble with Native Americans. The Central Pacific also big problems the Sierra Nevada.

The Gold Rush Thousands of people rushed to the gold. Miners went to look all over mountains and deserts. The gold new went everywhere like a wild fire.

Cowboys There were 5 million cattle. They were each $40 dollars each. One of the main cattle drives was Goodnight-Loving trail.

Effects of the Railroads and Gold Rush Bandits attacked the trains. And took everyones jewels, all the gold and money. People thought that they were going to be rich. But they only found goldust.
