Your school is taking part in the biggest cycle and scoot to school competition in the UK Your school is taking part in the biggest cycle and scoot to school competition in the UK – its going to be fun! During last year’s Big Pedal, pupils made over 840,000 journeys to school on bicycles and scooters. Last year, nearly 1,000 schools took part in the competition Cycling and scooting to school is fun and makes you feel great!

All you have to do is… Cycle or scoot to school every day, and get your friends, teachers and parents to do the same collect 10 wheelie characters and display them on a brilliant wallchart the more people who join in… the more powerful your wheelies will become.

Superhero wheelie Wheelie Hero wheelie If one pupil cycles or scoots to school then your school will receive a wheelie If 10% of pupils cycle or scoot to school then your school will receive a hero wheelie If 25% or more pupils cycle or scoot to school then your school will receive a Superhero wheelie

The schools with the most points will win some fantastic prizes! The more of you who cycle or scoot to school, the more points your school will get! The schools with the most points will win some fantastic prizes! There are categories for small primary schools, large primary schools, and secondary schools Prizes will be awarded to the winning schools in each of the categories at a UK and national level There are two challenge days with extra prizes… make an extra effort to see if you can win one of these There is a SEN challenge day too, with its own prize Schools with consistently high participation (over 25% every day) are entered into a separate prize draw

The final day of the Big Pedal is superhero day Are you a superhero? Come to school dressed as your favourite The final day is superhero day Are you a superhero? Come to school dressed as your favourite! There are prizes for the best pics! If you fundraise, by asking each child to donate £1, your money will mean we can help more children have happy, healthy school journeys Submit your superhero pics to the Big Pedal website for your school’s chance to win a bumper kit bag of hi-viz goodies

GOOD LUCK! Don’t forget… Ride and scoot safely Help your teacher record your journeys to go on the website every day Turn the wallchart around after the competition to display your certificate Have fun and… Check out how your school is doing by visiting the Big Pedal website: bigpedal.org.uk
