Abstract Submission Process 3rd Annual TFRI–BC Node Research Day DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: 6pm, Friday 13 September 2013. Abstracts are welcome from any project/topic in cancer research, including basic research, translation, communication, health economics, and ethics. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed prior to acceptance for scientific merit, significance, clarity and completeness. Selected abstracts will be invited to present posters at the Research Day. Abstracts invited to present posters at the TFRI research day will be notified by 30 September 2013. Accepted abstracts will be included in a booklet distributed to all participants on the day of the event. In addition, up to six abstracts from trainee participants will be selected for inclusion in the "rapid-fire" presentations at the Research Day. These participants will be invited to display a poster and to deliver a 5-minute presentation based on their abstract. Posters should be printed NO LARGER THAN 4-feet wide by 3-feet tall. Posters larger than this may not be accommodated at the meeting. All accepted abstracts and invited posters will be considered for a poster award. Judging is based on scientific merit, significance of the research, visual presentation, and oral presentation. Judges will evaluated abstracts as well as posters at the event, so submission of a high-quality abstract is important to be competitive for awards. Abstract submission format: Word or Word-compatible electronic format, minimum font size 11, minimum page margins 2.5cm on all sides. PDFs or paper copies will not be accepted. NO MORE THAN one page, including ALL of the following information: Title of abstract and poster Complete list of authors. The presenting author's name should underlined and the project leader's name (if included in the list) should be in ALL CAPS. Funder acknowledgement Title of the research project that the has conducted or is conducting the research described. If the project leader's name is not included in the author list, the name should be clearly indicated along with the project title. For projects with multiple leaders, please include the name of the leader responsible for the work being described. Abstract itself, in English if applicable, any declarations of conflict of interest. Participants are reminded that it is their responsibility to consider any IP or disclosure concerns prior to submission of abstracts. Accepted abstracts will be published in conference materials and made publicly available at the event.
