Notes Not an expert – Facilitate Discussion There is overlap in the different generations Today’s generation will be used to describe millennials, Generation Y and Z

Today’s Generation - Years Millennials 1977- 1995 Generation Z 1996 - 2012 Generation ?

What we Know about Today’s Generation Each generation consists of a nearly 20 years span Has a unique set of values Reacts to the generation before them Those born on the “cusp” may have blended set of characteristics Looks at the next generation skeptically “these kids today”

What typical characteristics of Today’s Generation did you see in the video?

Stats 96% own a smartphone 85% uses social media 50% will be connected online up to 10 hours per day 33% watches 1 hour of online video per day Has attention span of 8 seconds Pew Research Center
