Presentation transcript:

Welcome to Science (2/16) Please have a seat and take out the following: Your Create a Creature Packet A Genes and Molecular Machines Book (Page 77) Today’s Objective: Engage in an online activity to use Punnett Squares to show the possible genetic outcomes of a jungle critter. Due Dates: None

Hint, Hint, Wink, Wink Question: Made-up-endotisis is a rare disease that causes an overactive imagination and is recessive. Dad is a carrier (heterozygous) and mom has the disease (homozygous). What are the chances of the offspring having the disease? Draw the Punnett square.

Order of Activities: Finish determining the genotype and phenotype for Mother and Father (pages 1 and 2). Obtain the necessary body parts and make Mother and Father (page 3). Determine the genotype and phenotype for Baby/Offspring (half page). Paste the half page to page 4 of your packet. Obtain the necessary body parts and make the Baby/Offspring (page 3). Make ONE MORE baby on their own half sheet (paste the parts to the back of the half sheet) and turn it into Mr. Abe. Keep making babies on their own half sheet (paste the parts to the back of the half sheet) until clean-up OR engage in the interactive Punnett Square activity from our website OR help cut extra creature parts.

Fabulous!
