Harding and the “Return to Normalcy” After 20 years of reform and war, Americans were ready for the “normalcy” promised by Harding. 1. domestic taxes lowered, government waste cut 2. corrupt cabinet members wrecked the Harding presidency-Teapot Dome Scandal

Coolidge Takes Over “The business of America is business.” 1. He did not believe in helping Americans in need. 2. And he was an isolationist-Kellogg-Briand Pact

Technology Changes American Life The economy and personal wealth grew in the 1920s. 1. Model T automobiles produced quickly and in large numbers by the assembly line.
