TOGETHER FOR THE COMMON GOOD Here is where our journey started

Our journey started following a training experience in San Marino during the Meeting “Educating for the common good and in a European prospective” which was held in April 2016 by Jenny Sinclair.

Here we came across the international association, Together For The Common Good which promotes encounters and exchange between people of good will who cultivate the desire to meet and share ideas and good practice aimed at promoting and realising the Common Good in their own territory and elsewhere.

ALL TOGETHER FOR THE COMMON GOOD Thanks to Jenny’s own recount we understood that we also had to take up this journey. ALL TOGETHER FOR THE COMMON GOOD

This project has guided our children in the discovery of the meaning of Common Good and how it is possible to make it real in our daily lives. Through a series of themed activities our pupils have come to understand the importance of intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, the respect for all people and for the social and natural environment in which we live, the understanding what active citizenship means, of volunteering in the community and the discovery of the great universal values. This project has involved teachers from AIMC Saronno, Modena, Cagliari and Oristano.

We are happy to take part in the Festival Faith 17 which is dedicated this year to ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue. We are presenting the projects carried out in our schools as our own contribution to the dialogue.

We have worked together despite our differences, for the Common Good.

Through our profession as teachers, we help strengthen a civil society.

We promote relationships between groups...

We restore a sense of humanity and that love so needed by today’s world.

We promote reciprocal respect in school and in the community we live in.

We do this in our schools, by respecting the diversity of traditions.

By recognising that even those who disagree with us on certain themes can have talents and competencies which are vitally important.

WE NEED TO BUILD A COMMON LIFE TOGETHER... WE NEED TO LIVE IN A WORLD BUILT ON TRUST: TRUST IN OUR SELVES, TRUST IN EACH OTHER, TRUST IN THE FUTURE...

THANK YOU SO MUCH, JENNY, FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY !!!! Paterniti Bardi Giuliana and AIMC Italian Teachers group.
