Sophie Delezio Medical Report

First Accident Trapped under a burning car that crashed into her daycare center in 2003 Causing her to experience a third degree burn to 85% of her body Losing both feet, one hand and her right ear in the process

Second Accident Hit by a car when crossing the road, being pushed in a wheelchair Thrown 18 meters away Causing her to suffer brain bleeding/damage, heart attack, and severe injuries such as a broken jaw, fractured shoulder, and torn left lung Lost sense of smell in the process

Diagnosis Diagnosed with brain injury because she has bleeding in her brain that may cause further complications later in her life

Impact of accident: Lose sense of smell A setback of her attention span Lose ability to focus and gets distracted easily Ability to grasp information decreased Based on the impacts of her accident, she has damage on her frontal lobe and parietal lobe. These 2 regions in the brain control a persons attention span the ability to focus. The sense of smell and ability to grasp information is controlled by the frontal lobe.

Prognoses Aneurism; the weakening of swelled blood vessel walls around the brain Brain hemorrhage; the bursting of blood vessels in the brain, causing internal bleeding in the brain that could lead to the death of brain cells

Possible Impact for Future Life Difficulty to complete tasks and face problems because her sense of focus and attention span is a lot less than before. Easily distracted by surrounding environment, thus she cannot concentrate on her work

Possible Treatment Install ventilator to monitor the brain and organs to make sure it gets enough oxygen supply Once stable, doctors will make sure whether or not she needs brain surgery to treat the internal bleeding Physical and speech therapy after recovering from surgery; she may still experience sensory issues, seizures and memory problems After recovery, maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating well and being active
