The Creative Process

Define the Project Meet with your client Define what is wanting to be accomplished in the design Learn about business needs and marketing goals

Research Things to research! The Client’s Business The Target Audience The Business’s Competitors

Initial Ideation Ideation definition – The formation of ideas or concepts. Brainstorm based on the client’s business needs, the target audience and making design unique from the business’s competitors.

Thumbnail Sketches Thumbnails are reduced-size versions of pictures, used to help in recognizing and organizing them Gives the designer the ability to narrow out the mediocre designs quickly while building on concepts of good design.

Roughs After creating a variety of thumbnails, a rough is created by choosing the best thumbnail and creating a larger more defined version of it.

Design After a rough is completed an revisions made with the client and design can be created!

Revisions A back and forth process with clients on edits, revisions and final approval of copy and imagery used

Production Finalizing details in piece, making all images high-res, confirming correct color space, prepping for delivery to vendor.

Delivery Managing all aspects of on-time delivery of final work for output. Dealing with vendor estimates, time-lines, prepping and uploading files.

Follow-up Review goals versus outcomes and overall client satisfaction of end result. Analysis and recommendations provided for follow0up actions on campaign.

3 Phases of Production Pre-production – Research, thumbnails, rough Production – Design, Revisions, Production Post-production – File packaging, file delivery, follow-up
