The three types of Irony NOT THE SAME AS BAD LUCK!

Situational irony When we expect one thing, but another thing happens. (unexpected) (Under flap)

Examples of Situational New driver runs into his driving teacher’s car. The police station gets robbed.

Dramatic Irony The audience knows something the character(s) do not. (Under flap)

Verbal Irony Sarcasm What is said is different than what we expect. (Under flap)

Examples of verbal irony Man goes to a fancy restaurant. He says, “I’d like the chicken nuggets please.” “Honey your room is beautiful. I’ve never been prouder.”
