OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT The students understand the nature of materials in terms of their properties and functions. The students understand the uses of various materials. Students come up with the ways to use these materials responsibly. Students appreciate and become active members in sustainable development. OTIVES OF THE PROJECT

21st Century Skill Developed This project motivates students to mover beyond the basics and embracing the 3C’s – “super skills” for the 21st century. These are: Enhanced Creativity Build Critical thinking Learn Collaboration and team work

TOOL USED FOR THIS PROJECT Teachers community for guiding, helping and motivating students.

TOOL USED FOR THIS PROJECT Skype for video conferencing and reaching out to people.

TOOL USED FOR THIS PROJECT Worksheets used as organizers to aid their observational and inference skills.

TOOL USED FOR THIS PROJECT Visit to the Chattarpur farms to see organic farming, compost pit, recycling machine and ways of doing sustainable development.

Learning outcomes Students are able to identify at least 3-4 uses of each material in accordance with the object made out of that material. Students are able to articulate the properties of material as per the experiments conducted by them. Students learnt the skill of interviewing experts by preparing and asking relevant questions. Students were able to see the real life implementation of reduce,reuse and recycle at the chattarpur farms. Students become active action takers in sustainable development.
