Presentation transcript:

Introduction There are times when – with hindsight – we see the path that has lead to where we are. In this lesson we see two paths in the life of one individual: The parable of the “Prodigal Son.”

Selfishness (v. 12) “give me”

Separation (v. 13b) “journeyed to a far country”

Sensuality (v. 13c) “wasted his possessions with prodigal living”

Spiritual Destruction (v. 14) “and he began to be in want”

Self-Abasement (v. 15) “sent him into his fields to feed swine”

Starvation (v. 16) “gladly filled his stomach with what the swine ate”

Realization (v. 17) “But when he came to himself.”

Resolution (v. 18) “I will arise...”

Repentance (v. 19) “Father, I have sinned...”

Reconciliation (v. 20-21) “And he arose and came to his father”

Re-clothed (v. 22) “Bring out the best robe and put it on him...”

Rejoicing (v. 23-24) “...and let us eat and be merry.”

Conclusion God’s will brings forth redemption to all who return to Him after going down the path of sin. What path are you on?
