Fulton Elementary 5th Grade Art to Remember August 2014

Jim Dine Jim Dine was born in 1937 in Cincinnati Ohio His early work was considered Pop Art because he included every day objects into his art After traveling to Europe, he returned to the US in the 1970’s and switched to life drawings which reflected the full essence of his subject in the artwork “Drawing is not an exercise. Exercise is sitting on a stationary bicycle and going nowhere. Drawing is being a bicycle and taking a journey. For me to succeed in drawing, I must go fast and arrive somewhere. The quest it to keep the thing alive…” (Jim Dine 2003)
