Receive (today’s Bible reading) Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians, Chapter 3, verse 16 New International Version (NIV)

Your thoughts please As you explore the virtue of wisdom during worship this week, we would like to have your ‘words of wisdom’ to use in a special worship the school is leading at a head teachers conference in October. What words of wisdom would you give our world leaders (these must be sensible and with the aim of making God’s world an even better place)? Please can tutors email Mr Kings with your tutee’s most imaginative or impressive words of wisdom and they may well be used at the conference. Thank you.

Explore Here are some ideas for discussions to help you understand the importance of wisdom to our community. You might want to make a display or poster on your tutor group notice board. Do you agree that wisdom is more than just “knowing stuff” ? Does technology take away the need for human wisdom? Is enough wisdom shown in the world today and do we need more (if so, how can this be achieved)? To what extent do leaders need to be wise? As the Bishop Justus community, how can we show the Christian virtue of wisdom? (your tutor could pass ideas to your learning director or the Chaplain)

Respond (this week’s prayer) Heavenly Father, Be with us Lord, as on our journey through life, we learn, gain knowledge and experience, think and search for the truth. May we never stop striving for wisdom in all that we do you, to your glory Lord. Amen

Go   Let us bless the Lord Thanks be to God
