Land Area is 71,620 sq km and Water Area 120 sq km In Sierra Leone, most socio-economic sectors are risk due to climate variability and change, extreme weather and climate change events such as flood in areas like Freetown, climate change has caused great tragedy in August 14th 2017 Sierra Leone had a mudslide.

INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT (IFAD) AWS AGROMET STATIONS. IFAD-SL installed these automatic weather stations in KONO DISTRICT, KAILAHUN DISTRICT, KENEMA DISTRICT AND KABALA DISTRICT. One for each district. The aim of these automatic weather station is to help the farmers in Sierra Leone by given them update about the current weather conditions and state of the atmospheric weather conditions. AIRPORT WEATHER ADVISOR CHALLENGES 1.It is inefficient in terms of estimation of cloud amount 2.Sometimes we have missing data 3.There is indication for RVR but is not estimating the runway visual range. 4.The inspection team from the Sierra Leone Airport Authority are not regular. This automatic weather station is located at the airport by Sierra Leone Airport Authority.
