Directions: Summarize the events of this Chapter. You must list at least 3, and no more than 7, specific plot points. In order. Find one passage that illustrates the character traits/development of a main character. Be ready to explain HOW the passage illustrates character traits/change/development. What are the 2 most significant passages of this Chapter? Be ready to cite, and defend WHY they are significant. The passage must, in some way, contribute to the meaning of the work as a whole. If they contribute to plot or character development, please state how. The passages may also be the same as the character passages. Keep in mind the MOWW, however, and do not solely stick to the character! Take the passage back to the author’s point. You can also say something like, Through the character blah blah blah Author POWER VERB MOWW. Find one passage with a unique/significant/startling/exemplary STYLE. You will need to identify the device(s) used, and explain the impact on the reader/audience, as well as how that contributes to the author’s purpose. The passage MAY be the same as any used for #2 or 3.
