Day 142 Understanding closure with polynomial

Introduction Operations on numbers or sets of the same category can be said to produce a member of the same category or not. This is a description of closure or non-existence of closure. Closure exists when the operation will lead to a member of the same category. In this lesson, we are going to discuss the closure of polynomials.

Vocabulary: Polynomials These are numbers whose power on the variables are positive whole numbers Closure The a description of a situation where an operation on numbers of the same category gives rise to number of the same category as the first ones This can be done in the notebooks or on vocabulary cards. Whatever system you use 

Closure Addition When polynomials are added, we get a result that is still get a polynomial. Thus, polynomials are closed under addition. Subtraction When polynomials are subtracted from each other, we get a result that is still get a polynomial Thus, polynomials are closed under subtraction.
