Introduction In the last couple of decades, currant has been one of the most used fruit for its properties , due to its high content of vitamins, micronutrients antioxidants, anthocyanin. Because of this properties when eating currants, we are giving our bodies a natural mechanism to eliminate the free radicals that are the cause of many diseases that cause degeneration and aging of our body. Materials and methods The experiment was set up in the Didactic and Experimental Field of the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest. The biological material of black and red currant was 6 years old plants of ‘Ellite’ and ‘Tinker’ variety grown as multi-stem shrub. Conclusions and recommendations Tallest plants correspond to Vertical axe then Bi baum and the highest increase of cordon thickness to 6 cordons The highest number and length of annual growths was remarked for 5 cordons training system Highest average numbers of annual brenches per plant was for bush system Bigger fruits weight were picked up from Bi baum, followed by 4 cordons system The bush training system remains the most productive, but the size of a berry it’s smaller than any other training system, except Vertical axe The vertical systems are very suited for convenient manual picking, fruits quality and easy pruning interventions International Student Symposium "Hortus Academicus“ April 27, 2018 - Bucharest, Romania
