It’s KOBO time!

Step One: Get your assigned Kobo from Ms. Gordon Make note of the number of the Kobo your are assigned Turn the Kobo on by holding the red tab on the top right

Step Two: You will asked to sign into the Kobo, and you will be given options of using a Kobo account, a Google account and more Sign into the Kobo using your Google account, this is the same account you use to log into our Google Classroom For example: AA***AA@apps.hpedsb.on.ca password

Step Three After you sign into the Kobo using your google account, you will need to repeat the login step to link the Kobo to your google account data You should see the options: use existing account OR new account Choose use existing account sign in using your google username and password

Step Four Become familiar with navigating the device: You will see three main symbols at the bottom left of the screen, what do you think each one is for? back home view open window or apps

Step Four continued... You will see three more main symbols at the bottom right of the screen, what do you think each one is for? microphone search see all apps

step five Removing and relocating apps to remove apps from the home screen, press and hold the app icon a side menu should appear on the right side of your screen apps icons will now have a + or check mark select the icons your wish to remove with check marks, then click on the trash can in the menu that appeared on the right

step six Adding Apps open the Get Apps icon search for the follow apps: Google Drive Google Classroom Google Docs Google Slides add each app to your Kobo

step seven Account Settings and Security open all apps by tapping the icon on the far right in the bottom tray of your screen look for an icon called setting to view more apps, swipe across the screen open settings

Step seven continued... Sound - open sounds settings, unselect touch sounds Users - open users, select owner, type in your name, take a photo for your user account Security - open security, select screen lock, choose PIN or password, create a PIN your will remember (TIP: if you have a PIN you use for your phone or personal device, use the same PIN for your Kobo)
