SmartGlove SmartGlove is a Human Interface device. Uses force sensors and accelerometers to detect user input. One force sensor and one accelerometer is placed near tip of each finger. The SmartGlove has sensors place on the tip of the thumb, index, and middle finger.

Patent 5581484 Title: Finger Mounted Computer Input Device File date: June 27, 1994 Claims: Pressure sensing means attachable proximate to the tip of a finger of a hand for generating a pressure signal corresponding to the pressure of the finger tip against a surface. Position sensing means attachable proximate to the finger tip for generating a finger tip position signal corresponding to the position of the finger top over a surface relative to a reference position.

Patent 5819206 Title: Method and apparatus for determining position and orientation of a moveable object using accelerometers File date: March 20, 1997 Claims: A method for generating computer simulation signals in response to orientation of a moveable object from a plurality of accelerometers mounted on the moveable object. Generated computer simulation signals comprise orientation signals.

Patent 4988981 Title: Computer data entry and manipulation apparatus and method File date: February 28, 1989 Claims: Glove based device including gesture sensing means coupled to the glove. Controls a cursor indicated on the display with flexure of fingers and position of the hand. Using Electromagnetic transmitter to connect the glove to the computer.
